Bankroll Management is Key:

• Set a Loss Limit: Before starting a session, decide on the maximum amount you are willing to lose and stick to it. This prevents “chasing losses.”
• Increase Bets Gradually: Only increase your bet size when you are on a winning streak or feel very confident about your hand and the table dynamics.

Master Playing “Blind” vs. “Seen”:

• Play Blind Early: Playing blind (without seeing your cards) at the beginning keeps the pot smaller and forces the “seen” players to bet double the stake if they want to play. This puts pressure on them.
• When to Look (Chaal): If you are consistently getting strong hands, remain blind longer to keep the pot small. If you have a mediocre hand, switch to seen (Chaal) to get the option of a “Sideshow” or fold to minimize loss before the stakes get too high.

Observe Your Opponents:

• Look for “Tells”: Pay attention to how quickly other players bet, if their bet size changes based on their hand strength, or if they suddenly start playing Seen after a long time playing Blind. In a digital environment, their betting pattern is their tell.
• Track Patterns: Note which players bluff often and which players only bet big with a strong hand. Exploit these patterns.

Strategic Bluffing (Use Sparingly):

• Bluffing is less effective than in standard Poker, but it can work.
• Bluffing a Weak Player: A small, confident raise against a player who looks hesitant or folds easily can often win the pot, even with a weak hand.
• Don’t Overdo It: If you bluff too often, your opponents will catch on, and your bluffs will be called, leading to big losses.

Know When to Fold:

• Fold Weak Hands Early: Don’t get emotionally attached to your bet. If your hand is a low-ranking High Card or a very low Pair and the betting is getting aggressive, fold and save your chips for the next hand. Conserving chips is a winning strategy in the long run.

Tournament Strategy:

• Survive Early Rounds: The goal is to simply survive the initial rounds. Play tight (only strong hands) and conservative to ensure you make it to the paying spots.
• Get Aggressive Late: As the tournament progresses and the prize money is closer, you will need to get more aggressive, stealing blinds and putting pressure on players with a medium chip stack to avoid a side-show or fold.
